The rules, time limits and effect of freezing, reporting, appealing and pursuing recovery depend entirely on where you are. What this site describes is general sequence and common practice. It is not legal advice and does not substitute for a qualified lawyer or the relevant authority.
We make no determination about the legal character of any conduct, and no finding that any specific company or person is committing fraud — that requires evidence and jurisdiction. Everything discussed here is shape and structural characteristic.
No outcome is promised
We do not, and cannot, promise any result. Specifically: we do not promise a bank account or platform account can be released, we do not promise transferred assets can be recovered, we do not promise an appeal will succeed, and we do not promise that following anything here means nothing will go wrong.
This needs saying clearly because it doubles as a safety warning: anyone who approaches you after a loss promising to recover funds or release an account is the most concentrated source of second-round scams. They are working from a list of people who have demonstrably paid once and badly want to fix it. Any recovery offer that requires payment up front needs no further analysis. Crypto asset prices move sharply and you can lose everything you put in. Any trading decision should rest on your own judgement and your own capacity to bear loss. Where a platform, asset or tool is named here, it is to explain a mechanism or to serve as a source you can verify — never as a recommendation or endorsement.
Also worth stating: the legal status, tax treatment and available services for crypto assets differ widely between countries and keep changing. Go by the current rules where you are.
The limits of our tools

What each can and cannot do
- The address checker only verifies whether a string conforms to a chain's encoding rules. A valid format is not proof that this is the address of the person you mean to pay — it cannot catch clipboard substitution or an impersonated recipient. It queries no block explorer and knows nothing about balance, history or ownership.
- The platform decision tree returns structural risk signals, not a verdict on whether something is a scam. Hitting no signals does not mean safe.
- The script matcher returns structural similarity. The same sentence can occur in an entirely ordinary conversation; it makes no finding about any person.
- The source checklist only summarises what you ticked. We cannot inspect the page in front of you.
- The 72 hours checklist is a general sequence. Not legal advice, and no outcome promised.
If someone claims to be from this site
Four things BaitPath will never do
- We will never contact you first. There is no support desk, no community, and nobody who will message or call you.
- We will never ask for account information. No codes, no passwords, no seed phrases, no private keys, no identity documents.
- We will never ask you to send money. Under no name, including service fees, deposits or release charges.
- We offer no handling service. No recovery, no release, no appeals on your behalf.
Anyone claiming to be BaitPath staff and approaching you is not us. The only contact route is on the contact page, and it runs one way: you write to us.
